This is a hybrid role with a minimum of three days in the office per week.
At Cotswold Outdoor Group, the outdoors isn’t just where we work, it’s who we are. Every day, our head office teams play a vital role in helping people get outside, explore more, and experience the world around them.
We’re looking for a Social Media Executive to join us on that journey. This role is about more than just day-to-day responsibilities, it’s about shaping how we inspire our customers, support our stores, and grow our community of adventurers.
We’ve officially made the move to our new office in the heart of Swindon and couldn’t be more excited. Our brand-new sustainable office at 1 Newbridge Square puts us right next to the train station and the new bus boulevard, making it easier than ever to connect. This move marks an exciting new chapter in our journey, and our new space has been designed with the future in mind – supporting collaboration, wellbeing, and our commitment to working more sustainably.
About us
We believe life’s better when it’s lived outdoors. From hiking and wild swimming to simply stepping away from the screen, nature helps us feel alive.
At our head office, every role helps make those adventures possible. Whether it’s shaping our systems, supporting our teams or driving key initiatives, you’ll play a vital part in helping people get outside and explore more.
We’re part of the Cotswold Outdoor Group, including Runners Need and Snow + Rock, offering trusted brands, expert advice, and a commitment to protecting the planet.
Whether it’s your first step or your next move, you’ll find opportunities to learn, grow, and be part of something bigger.

To support the delivery of the social media strategy across Cotswold Outdoor, Runners Need and Snow+Rock, creating engaging social-first content, growing brand communities and helping to drive awareness, engagement and commercial performance. The Social Media Executive will play a key role in bringing each brand's personality to life across social channels, supporting content planning and delivery, content creation, community management, creator partnerships and performance reporting. This role requires a creative, organised and commercially minded individual who understands how social media can build brand affinity, inspire audiences and contribute to business growth, while confidently helping bring our brands to life through social-first content creation and on-camera participation where appropriate.

- Plan, create and publish engaging social-first content that aligns with brand objectives, audience interests and channel best practice, including filming and editing short-form video content using tools such as CapCut, Edits and DaVinci Resolve.
- Capture and edit short-form video content for social platforms using mobile-first creation tools and professional editing software where appropriate.
- Support the delivery of social campaigns, product launches, seasonal moments and key marketing activations across all three fascia.
- Monitor and manage community engagement, responding to comments, messages and conversations in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
- Identify relevant social trends, cultural moments and platform opportunities, recommending ways for the fascia to participate authentically.
- Support the management of brand ambassador, creator and influencer relationships, including content coordination, product seeding and campaign delivery.
- Confidently participate in social content where appropriate, including presenting to camera, supporting product storytelling, interviewing ambassadors and helping bring each fascia’s personality to life across social channels.
- Work closely with internal teams including Brand, Retail Media, Ecommerce, Retail and Partnerships to ensure social activity supports wider business objectives.
- Assist with content shoots, events, athlete activations and community experiences where required.
- Working with the Social Media Manager to monitor competitor activity and industry developments, sharing insights and recommendations with the wider marketing team.
- Support reporting on channel performance, campaign effectiveness and audience behaviour, helping identify opportunities for optimisation.
- Support budget administration, purchase orders, product requests and campaign logistics where required.

- Experience managing social media channels for a brand or organisation.
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms, their audiences and content best practices.
- Experience creating engaging content across multiple formats including video, photography and written copy.
- Understanding of social-first storytelling and short-form video trends.
- Experience working with creators, ambassadors or influencers (desirable).
- Experience within retail, sporting, outdoor or lifestyle brands (desirable).
